A counselor, and substance use disorder expert, Cara Love has earned multiple licenses and certifications. She holds credentials from the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department, the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners, and Texas Health and Human Services. In addition, Cara Love participates in nonprofit and federal organizations to learn about new research and methodologies in her field.

As a member of the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) or Association for Addiction Professionals, Cara Love benefits from its continuing education and affiliated resources. Cara Love also supports the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), which advocates for patients and their families and educates the public on mental health. Also, by following the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Cara Love learns the most up-to-date treatments from federally-funded research.

Cara Love earned a Master of Science in Addictions Counseling from Grand Canyon University. She also completed a postgraduate certificate in counseling trauma.
